Cost Breakdown
How it works:
- Freight = weight (kg) × rate per kg
- Handling = fixed warehouse + processing fee
- Insurance = ~1% of package value (optional)
- Rates are estimates from major forwarders (2026)
This is a ballpark, not a quote. Forwarders change rates weekly, fuel surcharges happen, and customs duties are on you. Use it to decide between air and sea, then get a real quote.
Tips to lower your shipping cost
Consolidate multiple orders
Don't ship one spool at a time. Wait until you have 5kg+ — the per-kg rate drops and you pay handling once instead of five times.
Choose sea freight for bulk
If you're ordering 20kg+ and don't need it next month, sea freight is roughly half the cost. Just don't do it if you have orders waiting.
Compare forwarders
Forwarders all quote differently. For anything over 10kg, get quotes from 2-3 of them — the difference can be $20+.
Declare value honestly
Don't under-declare. Getting your package seized costs way more than the duty you were trying to avoid. Know your country's threshold and stay under it if you can.
